The short answer: NO. Opal works with the Screen Time API to check your app usage all day. It runs in the background, helping you monitor your screen time and control access to certain apps. Don't worry, Opal is made to use very little battery. In fact, it usually uses only 2-4% of your battery in one day.
To see how much battery Opal uses on your phone, follow these easy steps:
Keep in mind, if you choose "Show Activity," you'll see how long Opal runs, including the background time. This number might look big, but it doesn't mean Opal is using lots of battery. To see the real battery use, check the "Battery Usage by App" tab.
With Opal, you can manage your screen time without using up too much of your phone's battery.
