How to choose Session Difficulty

Session difficulty allows you to customize how you want Opal to work during sessions.

When creating a normal or recurring session, you have three protection level options for the breaks, you can decide which difficulty is the best for you:

Normal

5 seconds until you can take a break.

This difficulty offers basic protection, you will be able to take breaks or edit session freely.

Timeout

Increasing random delays each time you take a break (from 20s to 90s+).

This difficulty offers a good balance, for when you still want to take breaks or leave early during your session but limit amount of breaks you take and discourage yourself from taking more.

Deep focus (Pro only)

No breaks allowed.

The hardcore option, you can't take any breaks, leave early or edit blocked apps (even if you try). Extremely effective at keeping distractions at bay.

Where to choose your protection level

To choose a protection level add a schedule (What is Schedule?), and then tap on β€œDifficulty”. You can switch from Normal to Timeout or Deep Focus and then finish the rest of the session customization.
