Why pay for Opal?

Opal's mission is to empower people to focus. As a digital wellbeing company, we want to help you gain peace and balance with your use of digital technology. We help you block distractions via Sessions, Time Limits, and Open Limits; we also give you personalized insight with your Focus Score® and Focus Report. While you are welcome to use the free version of Opal, paying for Opal allows us to maintain and improve the product, and gives you access to Pro features on our iOS app, Mac App and via our Android App. If you purchase an annual or lifetime subscription on iOS, you are welcome to share your subscription with family members in the same household using Family Sharing.

What features are included with Opal Pro?

The free version of Opal gives you access to three recurring Focus Sessions, unlimited Focus Sessions that you can initiate immediately, our Time Limit and Open Limit feature, Focus Reports, and your day of Focus Score®. In contrast, Opal Pro grants you access to the following features:

  • Unlimited Recurring Sessions that you can schedule in advance
  • Our Allow List feature
  • "No way, I'm hardcore" mode and so you're unable to cancel or take a break
  • Focus Score® with History of your daily screen time

Can I use my Opal Pro subscription on multiple devices?

Absolutely! There are a few addendums, however. To use your Opal Pro subscription purchased on iOS or Stripe on multiple devices, you'll first need to make sure you've signed up for an account using either your email or phone number. You can confirm by heading to your "Settings" on the iOS version of the app. Ensure that your subscription is associated with your account. If not, click on your "Profile" tab, then open your "Settings" (accessible from the upper right corner). From there, then scroll down and hit "Restore Purchase" to retrieve your subscription. Once that is complete, use the same credentials to log in on your other devices.

Meanwhile, if you purchased your Opal Pro subscription via the PlayStore, please contact our Support team to ensure you may use it on your iOS devices.

Can I use my Opal Pro subscription on your new Android app?

Yes! That said, because the Android version of the app is currently being upgraded, our Support team will need to assist you with the setup if you transfer from iOS to Android. However, if you purchase the app via the PlayStore, it should work correctly on your Android device.

Do you offer subscription discounts for students and educators?

We offer discounts for students and educators. We know students can be strapped for cash, and we do not want to limit your access to our service. To receive a student or educator discount, please apply here. If you've submitted your information for a student or educator discount and have not heard back after 48 hours, please check your spam folder. If your discount still isn't appearing, please contact our Support team using the instructions here.

How can I get Opal Pro for free?

If you have five friends on the iOS app who create Opal accounts using your referral, you can earn one year of Opal Pro for free. There's more details on how to do that here. Currently, we do not yet support referrals on the Android version of the app, but that feature is coming soon!
